Spanish Language Tuition
PIMM TUTORING
Hola
Hola, I am Sarah Pimm, an experienced and enthusiastic Spanish (and French) teacher. I have taught in several "outstanding" schools in Herts and Bucks and am excited to now dedicate my time to teaching out of school and offering individual and small group sessions for children and adults. I taught alongside my classroom teaching for many years and love the variety of content that these lessons require. As well as school GCSE and A level tuition, I also provide lessons following the DELE programme (an excellent alternative to A level), after school sessions for primary school aged children, language coaching for premier sportspeople, beginners sessions for several homeowners in Spain and booster classes for teacher colleagues who are wanting to upskill. In a normal week at Pimm Tutoring we run:

-
12+ different evening classes & adult groups each week
-
1:1 GCSE lessons
-
Tailored lessons for A level & DELE students
-
adult 1:1 lessons
-
family small group sessions
-
primary school sessions
Meet the Team
Here's our lovely team

Owner & Tutor
Sarah Pimm
The teaching journey
I started my teaching career at Ashlyn's School in Berkhamsted in 2004, running their first ever Spanish cohort.

In 2008 I was thrilled to move to a wonderful team at Parmiter's School in Watford, where I worked until I was offered a promotion at Chesham Grammar School in 2016 as Head of Spanish.

I built up the Spanish department at an outstanding school in Harpenden from 2018 to 2022. After 20 years in the classroom, having created strong GCSE and A level numbers and results, I had the opportunity to invest time into educating others and creating Pimm Tutoring as a full time tutor.

The Spanish Journey
My Spanish journey began after graduating with a 2:1 in Spanish and French Business Studies including a scholarship to study at ICADE university in Madrid.

After 10 years in the telecoms corporate world in the City and starting a family, my teaching career began to flourish.

As well as teaching during the school day, I also taught fast track Spanish at three secondary schools across Hertfordshire, as well as business specialist Spanish at a large corporation in Tring.

After 20+ years of classroom teaching I made the decision to branch out on my own, forming Pimm Tutoring and sharing my love of Spanish with others! The rest, as they say, is history!

Primary Lead
Marie
I am a passionate language teacher, a proud mum to little Odette and someone who followed her heart (and career) all the way from France to the UK.
I arrived here 20 years ago as a nannny - and like many great adventures, I never left. Since then, I've spent 16 years teaching French and English in schools, tutoring and sharing my love of languages with students of all ages. I believe language is one of the most powerful tools for connection and confidence.

A few years ago, during a trip to Central America, I fell in love with the language and the Latin culture. I then decided to learn Spanish. I met Sarah, started taking lessons with her... and just like my move to the UK, I never looked back.

Today, my greatest joy is teaching young children. Their curiosity, energy and honesty make every lesson a new discovery - and I'm here for all of it.

Website Maintenance and Admin Support
Rachel
With a mix of website management experience and general admin skills built up at Société Générale, the Ministry of Defence and Chesham Grammar School, I joined Pimm Tutoring to support Sarah and her team and help out in those areas.
I help keep things running smoothly at Pimm Tutoring by looking after our website and handling day-to-day admin tasks.
I enjoy making the website easy to use and keeping everything up to date so parents and students can quickly find what they need.
Behind the scenes, I help organise schedules, respond to messages and keep our systems tidy and stress-free. My goal is simply to make things easier for everyone and help Pimm Tutoring feel welcoming, organised and supportive.

Tutor
Gaby
I started tutoring Spanish whilst I was in sixth form, where I was employed by my school to tutor year 11 students to help them reach their target grades. Since then, I have continued to tutor KS3 through to A level Spanish - focussing on exam skills, speaking practice and grammar exercises.
Having achieved an A* at A level, I went on to study Spanish and Catalan at the University of Birmingham, with my third year spent abroad studying at Universidad Pablo Olavide in Seville.

Having graduated and completed my university studies, I am excited to be able to work with Pimm Tutoring on a more permanent basis before heading to Australia.

Primary
Daisy
Hi, I'm Daisy and I've known Sarah and Pimm Tutoring for 2 years. I started being tutored by her during year 10 and really enjoyed the language. I was thrilled with my GCSE results, but haven't been able to continue with it at A level as there is not enough space in my timetable.
I study Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the moment, and I continue to have Spanish conversation lessons with Sarah in my own time. I work on a Wednesday after school with Pimm Tutoring where I help in the Primary School sessions. I love working with the children and helping them to understand the language. Seeing them grow in confidence is great to see!
